Another episode down. Just when I thought they can’t get any better the show proves me wrong. Carl Weathers did an amazing job directing this episode and acting in it! Chapter 12 was full of action, cuteness, and things are really starting to come together. We got to see some old friends and even an old bounty, and most importantly we got to see an Imperial base that turned out to be a lot more than what it was originally thought to. Let’s talk about some of the most notable and adorable moments from the episode.
The Child is growing up.
I love that we are starting to see more of the things The Child can do. The scene where he was trying to help Mando fix the ship was adorable and showed us how much he understands. I did feel bad for the poor little guy when he got shocked though.
Using The Force for cookies.
In perfect toddler fashion, The Child saw cookies and he wanted them. Also not surprising the kid who had them didn’t want to share. Unfortunately for him though, this toddler had a bit of an advantage. The look on his face after he took the cookies and started eating them was priceless. Hopefully, they covered sharing and manners in class that day.
The gangs all back together.
There’s no denying Din, Greef, and Cara make a pretty great team. I really enjoyed getting to see them all work together again. You may have also noticed another familiar blue face, Mythrol is back and he’s paying off a pretty hefty debt. I enjoyed him having a little more screen time this episode.
Dark Troopers and failed clones.
We finally learned exactly why Moff Gideon wants The Child so bad. He wants to use his blood, well the midi-chlorians in it, for his experiments. Experiments that I would assume involve his Dark Troopers and the Snoke like clones in his lab. While in the lab they come across a recording of Dr. Pershing:
“Replicated the results of the subsequent trials, which also resulted in catastrophic failure. There were promising effects for an entire fortnight, but, then, sadly, the body rejected the blood. I highly doubt we’ll find a donor with a higher M-count, though. I recommend that we suspend all experimentation. I fear that the volunteer will meet the same regrettable fate if we proceed with the transfusion. Unfortunately, we have exhausted our initial supply of blood. The Child is small, and I was only able to harvest a limited amount without killing him. If these experiments are to continue as requested, we would again require access to the donor. I will not disappoint you again, Moff Gideon.”
Now they know Moff Gideon is alive and will most likely be coming for The Child.
Repairs complete with a tracker.
I knew right away we couldn’t trust this guy and it looks like I was right. Not only did he repair Mando’s ship but he put a tracker on it. Now it’s only a matter of time before Moff Gideon finds them.
I really enjoyed this episode, it had a good pace and a good storyline. Next week though, next week’s episode is called The Jedi or so I hear, and if that means what I think it means this is the episode I have been waiting a year to see. Are you excited for her? Let me know in the comments.
